A tunnel with no light
A black hole
The great Maw.
Consuming but never satisfied.
Desperation and pleading go unanswered.
Down the hole I go.
There has to be a bottom, right?
Crushing anxiety grips me and pulls me further in.
I look up.
I LOOK UP!
There, above me, darkness consumed, but for the faintest of lights.
I reach up, grasping, fighting the pull…
Reaching with all I have to grasp at that light…
Just out of reach.
Yet, I reach.
And even though I can’t grasp it, I hold onto it…
